December 24 & 25, 2013

I have been lax or lazy is probably the more appropriate word in posting to my blog.  I have many excuses so I won’t even begin to offer any.

Merry Christmas to all our family and friends.

Yesterday the 24th was our 46th Wedding Anniversary.  It’s unbelievable how quickly time goes by.  It seems like yesterday and also like forever!  This is what HE looked like when I first met HIM:

Time with the GRANDS…

Grandsons Micah and Gavin have gone back home! Crying face  The house is quiet again (not that they were noisy).  We enjoyed our time with them.  I had to work but Grandpa Bud went with them to the Smokies from Thursday – Saturday late.  He had a wonderful time keeping the GRANDS entertained with his corny grandpa jokes.  Just ask our oldest grandson Brian about the “grandpa jokes”!

blown up!!!Smokies 7-2011 037 Grandpa BUD did NOT go tubing.  He kept the home fires burning and watched out for them coming back down the river past the cabin!  He had to whistle at them or they’d have kept  floating on by!

I think Marc had a hard time getting his tube aired up…

Just one of the quaint sights to see!

I have hundreds of photos that Marc, Bud and Micah took … some beautiful scenery and I’ll save those for another blog.  Bud is anxious to take me there now… we’ll see.  I don’t think I’ll float down the river though!  That would be a sight or NOT!

Grandkids are God’s extreme blessings for grandparents!

Our family after church Sunday evening.  We had a good time!

We just had a good time visiting, didn’t go anywhere special.  The kids went downtown to the Walk Bridge for the Fireworks Saturday night.  We “old folk” just stayed home and got ready for Sunday.  They said there was a huge crowd.  This is downtown Chattanooga and people come from all over and also bring their boats to the downtown dock area and watch from their boats.  Marc said there were a lot of boats there this year.  They almost didn’t find a place to park.  When we lived downtown we could see the fireworks over the tree tops and hear them.  We only lived about 1/2 mile from the Walk Bridge.  Sometimes I miss living downtown.  I had a huge living room and in one of our house services we had almost 30 in our living room.  Those were good times.  We had several Cambodia young people coming, Bud used to see some of them at the hospital where he worked…they worked there also.  But now they’ve grown up and married and have kids!!!  Time goes on … quickly!

The house is once again quiet and the dogs are moping around (almost depressed LOL) because now they don’t have anyone to play with them!  They love the boys!  Scrappy really misses them!   Me too!  Until next time…
